Imagine This Imagine That experience
The NSW Branch of the Children’s Book Council of Australia is holding a 2 day conference to engage the children’s book-loving community in imagining the world of books in the twenty- first century.
We live in a visual world. The impact of technology means picture books are not just for children.
What about the internet? Will this change books? Has this changed books/book sales? Can authors, illustrators and publishers use this medium to enhance books? Is a good story still the most important component? How do authors and illustrators just do it?
Join us to ponder these and other imaginings.
This conference provides the opportunity:
- to come and meet some of Australia’s leading authors and illustrators in the field of Children’s Literature and hear their thoughts.
- To share ideas and practices within the children’s book community
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Book launches, a Cocktail Party with Queen Victorian overtones and a celebratory dinner where you can catch up with old friends or meet new ones are just some of the social activities planned. BOOKSHOP There will be a bookshop on site so that you can purchase the latest offerings by those presenting and have them signed. A Publishers’ Display will promote Australia’s latest offerings. ACCREDITATION FOR TEACHERS This conference is in the process of applying for accreditation with The NSW Institute of Teachers.
